Cham Island Ferry from Hoi An & Back
At Cua Dai Port, near the estuary of Thu Bon River in Hoi An, visitors can find the ferry boat to Cham Islands. The boat is motorized and won’t be a wooden boat, providing the quickest ride to the islands. See how to get to Cua Dai Port
Public ferry boat from Hoi An Old Town to Cham Islands has been not used for conveying passengers and only for goods. Therefore, visitors must come to Cua Dai Port.
Here is the schedule of Cham Island ferry boat at Cua Dai Port:
– Morning: approximately 8:00 AM (return boat from Cham Island is available at 7:00 AM)
– Afternoon: approximately 2:00 PM (return boat from Cham Island is available at 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM)
The ferry boat ride is 20-30 minutes long, depending on the weather conditions of the day. Drop off place is the pier at Bai Lang Village, the main fishing village on Cham Island. To return to the mainland, please go back to this pier. If book a homestay in Bai Huong Village, the distance is around 5km.
We advise reserving or buying Cham Island ferry tickets in advance because the boat serves for both locals and visitors. Make sure that you know the exact departure time on the booking date.
About the price, a ferry ticket to Cham Islands costs 70,000 VND per passenger per way. In addition, there is an entry fee and an ecological fee required for visitors (free for citizens on the island). Total cost of these fees is 100,000 VND per person (kids under 5 won’t be charged). Meaning that price of a round trip ferry boat from Hoi An to Cham Island is 340,000 VND. Make sure when you book, all fees are included in the selling price.

Cham Island Ferry from Da Nang
Currently, there is no direct ferry boat from Da Nang to Cham Islands. Visitors still need to go to Cua Dai Port in Hoi An and then take ferry there to visit the archipelago. In the future, visitors may have the chance to take a boat from Tien Sa Port (Da Nang Port) to Cham Islands.
The distance from Da Nang city center to Cua Dai Port is around 30km. Visitors often hire a private car/van, take a taxi, or ride the motorbike. For the best price of private car, please contact us by WhatsApp number +84968009827. If like going by scooter, the fastest route is the coastal route. From anywhere in Da Nang, find the shortest direction to Hoang Sa Road/Vo Nguyen Giap Road/Truong Sa Road, and then go southwards (towards Hoi An). Just follow this route until the end. Parking fee is around 10,000 VND per day. If don’t return in a same day (because staying overnight on the island), please let the people know in advance.
