This half-day cycling tour shows you highlights of Cam Kim Island, an unspoiled countryside area in the south of Hoi An. The best way to explore it is riding the bicycle. Our guide will take you to the metal bridge and then Kim Bong Carpentry Village, where local people have kept boat building and woodworking traditions for over 500 years. Here, watch carpenters at work, visit the workshops of famous artisans to see their sophisticated sculptures, and try hand at woodworking. Next, cycle through rice fields and peaceful villages to see local families to learn how to make rice papers, rice noodles and sedge mats. In the end of the tour, enjoy a boat trip on the river to get back the city center. Join to escape the hustle and bustle in the city.

Our guide will see you at your hotel in Hoi An city center if it’s in areas of Cam Pho and Minh An.

If stay in other areas of Hoi An (like beachside hotel), please come to the meeting point in the city center (contact us directly to know the exact location).

Vietnam is the second largest rice producer in the world. Hoi An, particularly Cam Kim Island, lies within the fertile delta of Thu Bon River, therefore visitors can see rice fields. Rice paper making & try 'banh dap' (smashing rice papers)

Visit a local family whose members have made rice papers and rice noodles for some decades. One of them will show you the process to make the rice paper by rice milk and then you have the chance to try your hand at making your own rice papers. After that, the artisan shows the way to make the noodles from fresh rice papers and how to make banh dap (‘smashing rice papers’), a specialty food in Hoi An. Boat trip back to Hoi An

After return Kim Bong Carpentry Village, take a boat trip across Thu Bon River to reach the city center of Hoi An. This is the way how local residents on Cam Kim Island do every single day to see the market or go to the school, before modern bridges are constructed. 

*Visitors will carry the bicycle to the boat.
