The Nearest Airports to Lang Co Town
Da Nang International Airport
Lang Co Town is a beach town, the capital of Chan May – Lang Co area. It lies on a peninsula between the sea and Lap An Lagoon, near the foot of the Hai Van Pass.
The nearest airport to Lang Co Town is the Da Nang International Airport (DAD) in Da Nang city (to the south of Lang Co). The distance is about 30 km via the Hai Van Tunnels and 40km via the Hai Van Pass.
Today, Da Nang International Airport has 2 terminals: Domestic terminal or Terminal 1 and International terminal or Terminal 2. These terminals are quite close to each other, and visitors can walk if have a transit/transfer.
No matter which terminal in Da Nang International Airport, it takes the visitor 1-1.5 hours to go by car. We suggest booking a private car/van in advance because Lang Co Town is not the most popular beach town in the area.
The unusual way to go from Da Nang International Airport to Lang Co Town is by train. Firstly, visitors need a taxi or car ride to Da Nang Railway Station on Hai Phong Street. After that, take the heritage train (morning or afternoon train) to Lang Co Railway Station. The ride is around 1.5 hours. If choose this way, make sure you have lots of time and buy heritage train tickets in advance.
The best route to go from Da Nang Airport to Lang Co is via Hai Van Pass. If your flight arrives in the evening, we suggest doing this scenic pass road on the way back to Da Nang.
Inside Vietnam, visitors can take a flight from many cities to Da Nang (including Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh city, Can Tho, Nha Trang, Da Lat, Buon Ma Thuot, Hai Phong, Phu Quoc,….). Phu Bai International Airport
The second nearest airport to Lang Co Town is the Phu Bai International Airport (HUI) in Phu Bai ward, Hue city. The distance from this airport to the town is about 50km via Highway 1A.
The most popular way to get from Phu Bai International Airport to Lang Co Town is by taxi or private car. The drive is 1-1.5 hours, depending on the traffic and weather. Visitors should book the private transfer in advance to make sure that everything is organized.
The unusual way to get from Phu Bai Airport to Lang Co Town is with sightseeing the City of Ghosts (An Bang Cemetery), a massive and remarkably elaborate burial ground located in a coastal fishing village.
Today, Phu Bai International Airport has only 1 terminal for both domestic and international flights.
The Phu Bai International Airport is much less busy than Da Nang International Airport. Visitors can take the flight from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City on almost all days of the week. If travel Vietnam from north to south, of course, flying from Hanoi is most convenient and vice versa, having a flight from Ho Chi Minh City is best for those who plan to explore from south to north.
There is no direct international flight to Phu Bai Airport. So visitors should check flight schedule in the Da Nang International Airport instead.
