This half day tour shows you the Marble Mountains and Linh Ung Pagoda, two must see attractions in Da Nang Hoi An area. The Marble Mountains comprises of hills that rise strikingly from the surrounding plain, giving it the nickname ‘Ha Long Bay on land’. The largest hill is the Water Mountain where you will hike to visit ancient Buddhist temples, amazing caves, stunning cave temples, craggy peaks with a pretty panoramic view. One of the caves served as hiding place and hospital for communist guerillas in the latest war in Vietnam. In Linh Ung Pagoda, the biggest Buddhist temple in the city, boats a 67-meters-tall Lady Buddha statue.

Non Nuoc Stone Carving Village

Around the foot of the Marble Mountains, this village has a tradition of stone carving that started 300 years ago. Here, visitors will see lots of marble items made by hand of local craftmen, from small accessories to huge Buddha statues. For a very long time, the locals use the stone taken from the Marble Mountains, each one providing the stone with a different color. See more details

Linh Ung Pagoda (Non Nuoc Pagoda)

Visit/photograph in the most famous Buddhist temple in the mountain. It’s constructed in 1826 by request of Minh Mang king and then titled by him as ‘national temple of Vietnam’. In Vietnamese, its name means ‘wishes answered miraculously’. In the area, you will see two more Linh Ung pagodas, one in Ba Na Hills and one in Son Tra Peninsula. See more details

Tang Chon Cave

Visit/photograph a group of caves with a small and secret entrance. Each cave here has one Buddha statue or remains of Hindu temple. There are numerous bats living in dark spots in the caves. See more details

Xa Loi Tower

Visit/photograph the tallest building in the mountain. It rises up to a height of 28 meters, and has 7 stories, symbolizing seven steps that the Buddha took after his birth. One of Buddha’s relics has been preserved in the top of this tower, giving it a great importance for local monks and Buddhists. See more details

Van Thong Cave

Between two rocky gates, in the highest terrace of the mountain, this cave has 2 chambers. The second one opens to the sky because of no ceiling. Here, visitors will find a secret hole which leads to a hidden trail to one of the highest peaks. See more details

'Heaven Gate'

Conquer and have a break at one of the highest peaks in the mountain. Here, visitors will see a pretty panoramic view to the Facific Ocean. The breeze blowing from there is extremely cool and fresh. See more details

Huyen Khong Cave

Visit/photograph the biggest cave in the mountain. Its entrance is also a cave that is known as Hoa Nghiem Cave. If go in a sunny day, visitors will see amazing beams of light falling from the top of the cave, providing a perfect opportunity for taking pictures. Temples here honor Buddha, gods and goddesses. Tam Thai Pagoda

Visit/photograph another important temple in the mountain. It’s constructed in 1826 by request of Minh Mang king because his father promised to do it many years before. Later, it’s titled ‘national pagoda of Vietnam’. In the past, a sister of the king also lived here as a nun. Not far away, the River Watching Pavilion offers a stunning view to all mountains in the Marble Mountains. See more details

Monkey Mountain

The Monkey Mountain of Da Nang is known as Son Tra Mountain. This 6,000-hectares mountain is surrounded by the sea on three sides. It’s home to untouched forests with a high diversity of animals, spectacular coastline and beautiful beaches. See more details 

Here are places that you will visit in the Monkey Mountain:

– Linh Ung Pagoda: the biggest Buddhist temple in the area. Built on the hilltop from 2004 to 2010, it has very large worshipping halls, tall towers, numerous bonsai trees and plenty of stone sculptures. The view from here is awe-inspiring. See more details

– Lady Buddha: a statue of Lady Buddha (Goddess of Mercy) rising up to 67 meters from the surrounding. It’s one of the tallest Buddha statues in Vietnam. See more details

Return & Drop off

Go down the mountain by stairs to see the car/bus. In the city, our guide & driver will drop you off in your hotel.

What to bring/wear

Visitors should wear comfortable walking shoes, hat/cap, sunglasses, sunscreen, rain poncho/jacket (from October to January), cash.  To visit historical places, visitors should wear respectively. In other words, wear long pants to cover the upper knees, wear the shirt to cover shoulders, navel and armpits.
